In a dramatic revelation by the creators of the hit television series The Big Bang Theory, the primary character of Sheldon Cooper will now be more tolerant of the Indian stereotype in the show Raj Koothrapalli in the wake of the rising intolerance in India. The producer Chuck Lorre stated that he does not want his show to be in trouble for being perceived as intolerant by the Indian liberal media.
Chuck Lorre said, “India is a very important market for us and our biggest fan base outside the US is in India.” He also added, “The growth of the liberal media in India was initially seen as a progressive one for American sitcoms because of our slightly racial stereotyping of Indians in most of our shows. But the current situation is scary.”
With the entry of Priyanka Chopra into American Television through the series Quantico, it was established that the American sitcom market is finally opening its doors to being tolerant of minorities and the further empowerment of Raj in comparison to Sheldon is aimed to finally establish American television as the most tolerant for Indian audiences.
Insiders say that in coming episodes, Raj will reveal that he was working on 2 post doctoral degrees from India at the same time, courtesy a loophole in the Indian reservation system and will announce that he is now the most qualified member of the friend circle. This will catch Sheldon by surprise and he will be totally unprepared for it. Following a hissy fit, Sheldon will post a video blog (apart from his show on Flags) about how frustrated he is. As a backlash to the video, Sheldon will be interviewed back to back by Sagarika Ghose and Arnab Goswami. Rajdeep Sardesai will write an open letter to him condemning him for his feelings of disappointment.
The following episodes will play out how Sheldon will have to underplay and hide his usual jibes at Raj for fears of being labeled as intolerant by the Indian scientific community. The pent up frustrations will then have an adverse effect on Sheldon prompting his friends Leonard and Howard to find an addition to their group. This will then lead to a series of old characters being introduced to ensure Sheldon can release his frustrations and anger.
Rumor has it that a 5th permanent member will be added to the group who will be a North Korean – American, one of the communities it is still ok to make fun of.
